Djimi Shimmies

After a seven day hiatus caused by a exam stress induced mental breakdown, djimi finally returned to the park. Even before he got off his bike, cries of welcome were already ringing out. "Jimmy!" "Jimmy Neutron!" "He is yours!" "No, he is your team!"
It was always like that, both teams fighting over (not to have) him.

In the end, he was thrown into the team with fewer players and the game continued. The ball flew from one end to another in a seemingly random motion. Suddenly, djimi found the ball bouncing towards him and he struck it, past the defenders into the corner of the imaginary net. "OMG jimmy scored!" everyone started shouting. "wow first time i am seeing this"

After a while Jay arrived and the game paused again. "Jay is ours, we give you Jimmy!" "No, Jay is ours!" This went on for some time and djimi was thrown about like a rag doll. The cycle washed, rinsed and repeated whenever a new player arrived. Thomas, the 9 yr old prodigy), Roar-nold, Wolverine.

Wolverine was on fire, as Roar-nold had shot a penalty kick straight into his hands. Roar-nold was infamous for his (in)accuracy, hitting either trees. lampposts and on at least one occassion the unlucky toddler walking past. Anyway Wolverine had his healing factor so it didnt really matter, but it still hurt and he was pissed. He was actually running!

Djimi was starting to feel down. It was his 26th birthday and he felt he should be living it up instead of spending it at the park. However, his family was still in Mali and his extended family, the Neutrons, had moved to the USA after the Proton Saga. He had searched the whole of the USA but still had not been able to find them. Their letter had explicitly stated that they were in the northern part of the Upper Serangoon Area, and he couldnt understand why he couldnt find them.

It was getting late and the moon was huge and round. However, the air had a funny smell and there seemed to be a fog around the area. It was getting hard to see the ball and the game was coming to an end.

If you look closely, you can see djimi scoring his fifth goal

Many of the kids left and returned armed with lanterns and sparklers, for it was the Moon Cake Festival too. At first, it was pretty innocent and heartwarming, but it soon descended into anarchy. One group started burning lanterns while another took to throwing sparklers at first each, flaming bolts hurling through the smoky air.

It seemed that everyone was celebrating for Djimi.
