Holidays

Wednesday. Went to play soccer looking to avenge my bruised lip, but bad weather ensured that a grand total of 3 turned up. Wasnt long before it started to pour, and I had to head for home. Lousy brakes and tyres + wet weather = recipe for disaster. I realized I couldnt brake enough and had to crash myself onto the curb to prevent myself from skidding into traffic. Towards the end, the rain was so heavy I could hardly open my eyes. Finally realized what is a luo tang ji.

Thursday. Watch Flyboys with ex-clasmates. We only meet like once a year. And I did something really terrible. Me and my big mouth.. Anyway, Flyboys provided terrific dogfights.. I'd always dreamed of flying WWI and WWII era planes.. I feel modern planes are too fast and "automatic" to provide opportunities for real dogfights. The film was based on the actualy squadron of the Lafayette Escadrille, and it was interesting to discover that an African-American actually flew for the French, but was refused by the US Air Force.

Today I finally resumed tuition with J. He requested it cos he cant do his holiday homework :( Sadly, he got 58 for both subjects which I tutor him in. After looking through the paper, I realized he could have gotten at least 70! His attitude isnt that good but I am quite disappointed in myself for not pushing him enough. Hopefully I can find a way to motivate him enough next yr.
