Tracking Trains

I'd been thinking about posting this since last week but was hesitant as I dont really trust my own opinion (hence usually having the lack of one). However just now on the way home, I noticed that the heavenly constellations were in alignment. Plus, there was a Southeastern- Protestant wind, and the neighbour's infernal dog actually wasnt barking! Then I knew, that the time had come. Of course, it also helped that there were others already saying the same thing. (see 1 and 2)

Since my lessons start a whole 2 hours later than the previous sem, I no longer have to contend with the rush hour crowd on the trains, or so I thought. Imagine my surprise when the first train arrived, with people's faces plastered onto the glass doors. In a bid to increase efficiency, the train company has reduced the number of seats (allowing more standing room thus increasing capacity) and tweaked their frequency such that trains will more or less be packed be it rush hour or not. This then results in nicer annual reports and more uncomfortable passengers.

Anyway, my personal advice is to stay away from the doors, and fight your way into the middle, where there is more breathing room. Plus, you dont have to contend with people (alighting and boarding) shoving you in two directions at once. Also, as mentioned previously, there is always a bright side. With the train filled to capacity, there is always a shoulder to look over, so you get to enjoy the morning newspaper, PSP games and even the occasional book. NOT forgetting the lovey dovey sms-es!!

VIDEO: Every morning at each station, dozens stream in and out of the carriages, getting into each other's faces. Elbows flay and tempers fray, everyone gets closer to breaking point. The video below shows the worst case scenario, when things get Royally Ugly. (pun intended)
