Perhaps city life is so fast paced and demanding, people simply do not have time for strangers they do not know.
So it may be understandable that people will ignore u when you approach them. Or walk off when you are in mid sentence.
People may be rushing to get home for dinner and speed on the zebra crossing, even if you are about to cross
People may climb buildings or bury themselves in ice to raise money for charity and then use it for themselves.
In the rush of it all, you expect people to be selfish and ill-intentioned
then it becomes so much more precious
when someone lets a stranger cut ahead of him
when a party offers companionship to a lone traveller
when a philanthropist gives millions in his lifetime and even more after he has passed on, all on the quiet, without expecting any credit or reward
The near miss today and the drudgery ahead made me realise, that though i have been miserable at times during this break, it was indeed a kind of happy misery, for i would rather be experiencing that, instead of studying something i have no interest in and can never fully comprehend, in the fold of people on totally different frequencies from completely different worlds.
