Red Tide

1 Jan 2191- Two centuries after being vanquished by its arch-nemesis, Communism has returned in style, with the last of the remaining states being dissolved. Although Capitalism emerged the victor in the five decade long struggle, it subsequently imploded over the years, with economic crisis after crisis exposing its flaws.

Countries grew increasing socialist, eventually evolving into the second phase of communism as predicted by Karl Marx. Said one cadre,:"The ideals of our founders were right, but the people simply werent ready or able for it then. With this communal communism, our progress may be slower, but at least it is stable, and the people are happier."

With the dissolution of the state of Rohan, virtually the whole world is red, save for a tiny island state in the far east, also known as the state of Denial. Its current ruler, 34th in a long line of emperors, Lee Hsien Half said, "Although we have been facing a massive exodus of people, we are glad all those buggers are gone, leaving only the stayers. Bless them, all 666 of them! On the bright side, only the good ones are left. These are the cream of the crop, who are able to see the big picture. Just look at the latest statistics, we no longer face the problem of traffic congestion, crime rates are at an all time low and we have nearly 100% employment. I'd say that we are about to enter our 34th Golden Age, eh?"
