I just saw this entry that mentioned learning the science of pseudo laughter in the course of work. This is something i see alot, and also a skill i am yet to acquire. Of course, it has its uses. It can break the uneasy silence or simply break the ice. Studies indicate that while being happy can make you laugh, the reverse is also true.
However, i just find it difficult to laugh when i dont think something is funny or when i am sad. Even when i try, it sounds more like a cough. I tried to justify not learning it because it is something fake. But then again polite smiles are fake as well, and i give that all the time.
