today my family and i went to the photo studio. after having our picture taken, there was one guy, probably the boss, who kept trying to get us to upgrade to bigger pictures.

i was not impressed by his sales approach at all. he kept trying to make little connections to make it seem as if we were best of pals.

"ooh.. you are from this uni! and your sister is from this faculty!" and after that he kept referring to me as "this uni" and my sis as from "this faculty", making no effort to learn which fac i was from but still acting chummy all the same

"ahh, you are here for your graduation shoot. did you know we specialize in this?" (he probably says that to everyone, no matter what purpose they are here for)

"..and i recommend this frame, you know why? i will explain to you professionally. because i chose i specially for you, from "this uni", and you, from "this fac" and... and because this frame, it is unique, you know, it gives a border to the picture, defines the border, so special!"

and i just kept staring at him with a blank face because the only other option would be to puke all over him, which i really didnt want to. so he went to work on my parents

"ooh.. i just noticed, your ears are so long! just like a buddha!"

"waa.. your skin is so nice, just like a baby's arse!"
(no, i just added the 2nd part in)

sad to say, my parents bought it and the guy's eyes went ka ching

i was really unhappy because to me, that guy is a clown and full of nonsense. there was hardly a moment where he tried to sell his product by describing how good it was and all he tried to do was to make you feel good about yourself. maybe others might find him slick or savvy or even street wise, but to me his actions were empty, cheap and downright insincere.


this should motivate me even more
