When I was younger, I did not have to buy my own breakfast during weekends. My parents would buy back when they went to the market, and I had my pick between (1) vegetarian fried noodles (mian mixed with bee hoon), (2) prata (1 egg and 1 egg with onion) or (3) prawn noodle soup.
Now when I have kids, we go out to eat together and I share egg prata with my daughter while eating the parts without egg. As we grow older, the responsibility increases but with the choices we have become fewer.
It is also ironic that in the office, I am nominally heading a team, but really, I am the one listening to them instead. It is a similar story at home.
This is a paradox of life!
