Are you Aware?

While i am happy that the old guard was restored to power, i guess i am still thinking of the ideal solution. i dont like it that those new guard were heckled and booed at whenever they spoke. i dont like it that in the end, it came down to a show of numbers.

Even though they were defeated, i am quite sure they are still convinced that their point of view is correct.

thinking of it.. this whole incident is very related to what we learnt in our HR module. After all, subscribing to different views and religion is very much the formation of one's identity. If you tell them that their point of view is incorrect, they would naturally feel aggrieved as it is an attack on their self.

there is also relation to the topic of duality. You and me, us against them. They said, to resolve duality, you have to find the common ground between two groups. I guess it is just more difficult to do so here because both groups feel so strongly on the issue that they would be blind to everything else.

Perhaps the only good was that the issue has been thrown into the spotlight and we can see what others feel on this 'taboo' topic.

I also came to discover that most religions are against homosexuality. i remember reading that during the American Civil War, both sides claimed that God was on their side and used the Bible to support their cause (for and against slavery). Perhaps as time passes, Christians will come to accept homosexuality as well?
