recently watched a few clips on climate change, and it only takes an increase of 1-6oC for the world to end. Basically, it is the tipping point beyond which the world will end.. for us. The world will still be around, glad to be rid of us.

At these higher temperatures, forests turn from carbon sinks into carbon sources, ice-caps melts, oceans expand due to heat, over 10 mil people will be displaced from flooding. imagine what disruption that alone would cause. then you have the release of methane hydrates from the ice floor, which basically results in large quantities of methane being released into the atmosphere ( = die ). When this methane combusts, which it does easily, more ice is melted and more methane hydrates are released. This also leads to fireballs of rain, like Armageddon, as unbelievable as it may sound.
what can you do to stop/slow climate change? theres the normal stuff of switching off appliances that are not in use, reuse reduce and recycle. one way to reduce your carbon footprint greatly would be to eat less meat. Aside from resources that could be used to plant crops/vegetation, animals reared for meat obviously produce much co2 as well. you dont have to become vegetarian, just one meal or one day a week would make a cumulative difference.
think also of those who dont have enough to eat, or the fact that we are the second largest consumer of meat in the world, behind only America. surely we can afford to eat less meat?
