after attending from many talks over the past few months, i have been able to study the phenomenon of yawning, both from personal experience and independent observation. yawning does not mean that you are bored, since i often yawn when trying to pay attention. in fact, i yawn more often when i am trying to pay attention but then my mind cannot keep up with the tremendous influx of information being handled. after some time, my mind shuts down and i fall asleep, but thats another story

yawning, sometimes at least, is probably a way of the body's way of telling you that you are too stupid to understand whatever is being said, or if everyone around you is yawning, that the speaker is presenting too quickly and too in depth. but then again thats not always true since yawning is contagious (in a social effect kind of contagious). if everyone around you is yawning, it could also mean that the original yawner is popular, either that, or the speaker is someone unpopular and they are yawning on purpose just to piss them off (thats where the independent observation comes in lol)
