The Curious Case of Jordan Henderson

Aside from being an overage player in the Under-21 team, Henderson also likes to pretend to be an airplane in his spare time

It is pretty safe to say that so far, Hendo' lad has failed to live up to his 20 million pound transfer fee.  Thing is, he certainly isnt short of potential. His control and technique is decent, he can spot a through ball and you can always count on him to work his socks off on the pitch.  What he seems to lack is initiative, ownership and wanting to dominate the game.  99% of the time when he gets the ball, he will play it backwards because he is so afraid of losing the ball, even when he is in an advanced position.

While he hasnt won over the majority of the fans, i for one am giving Henderson my support.  Part of it stems from my love for underdogs (Lucas pre-2011, Heskey, Fowler 2.0..) and the other part is maybe because i  see that we are being held back by the same issues.  Hendo is much luckier however, since he is earning like 100,000 pounds a week while I simply gain 10 pounds a year.
