Age of Tanks

The sound and subtitles are not in sync, which was a real turn off at the start. i later found out this was because the documentary was originally produced in French. I am glad i persisted as it was overall quite inisghtful. The use of mobile armour has existed since the time of the calvary, and the coming of the tanks was brought about by necessity and technology. Without the trench warfare of WWI and invention of cars, tanks would not have come about. The history lessons were complemented by stories from actual tank soldiers, which made it more personal and relevant. That said, it would have been more interesting to also learn more on tank strategies, on top of the technological advancements. It was also interesting to see how outdated our own tanks are, and ponder how well they would do in a fight. The big question is, in the age of AI, are tanks still relevant? I am sure that governments are secretly building human-killing machines. As Einstien said, WWIV will likely be fought using sticks and stones, since the next world war will likely lead to us wiping out the human race.
