I saw this series available a while back but was always held back by inertia. Why would I want to watch a monkey killing people? Glad I finally did, because there is more to it than that.
Hit Monkey sees the monkey team up with the ghost of assassin Bryce, and this buddy-killer series balances action, plot and dark humour very well. In fact, this is pretty much what the Book of Bobba Fett was missing.
The Book of Bobba Fett has lots of famous cameos but is somewhat short in starring its main character, Bobba Fett, who seems to have developed a taste for being the good-guy.
In Hit Monkey, both monkey and ghost are anti-heroes who balance being 'not-bad' with 'bad' much better.
The characters also play off each other well, unlike Bobba Fett and Fennec Shand, who just seem to oppose each other without much development most of the time.
In the comics, Hit Monkey was first introduced in Deadpool, and I have to say that I enjoyed this series alot more than the Deadpool 2 movie, which contained too many references I did not understand.
