i was in the changing room of the swimming complex yesterday, about to go home, when this guy approached me, asking me to help him change the settings on his phone. i was kind of suspicious cos he had been sitting in the changing room for over 50 minutes (he was already there was i arrived) and when he asked me to help change it to silent i was begining to wonder if he had stolen it. well, anyway the language on the phone was melayu so i couldnt really help him. so i left.
as i walked, i kept thinking, was the phone really his? after much deliberation, i decided to look for him, to confront him, ask him the phone's number, etc. i was thinking, if the phone was indeed stolen, maybe i would get a reward from the owner, or a plaque from the police! anyway, everything checked out. turns out he cant read, and he had wanted it to ring instead of turning it to silent. (didnt occur to me if he wanted to steal it he could have just turned it off) opps. so i took out my phone and compared the settings, managing the change the language to english. and then i made the changes he wanted. he was really glad and said i was a good boy. ha. he even wanted to treat me to a meal. and to think i thought he was a thief.
